Here's a lesson about ironing boards. They come in four sizes; A, B, C and D. Size A is the smallest at 110x30 cm (about 39 x 11.8"), size B is 124x38cm (about 48.8"x15"), size C is 124x45cm (about 48.8"x17.7") and size D tops 'em at 135x45cm (about 53.1"x17.7"). Putting it differently, you have the itty bitty size A, size B and C are the same length at about 4' but B is narrower, and size C and D are the same width, about 1.5' but D is six inches longer.

Brabantia generally has 22mm diameter legs on the A and B and 25mm on the C and D, hence Amazon's description.

This board arrived by Amazon's alternate carrier in SoCal in a very heavy cardboard wrapping shaped into a box. The wrapping was undamaged and heavily taped. I easily cut the tape with a dull box cutter (all three sides) and opened the shell to find an undamaged, huge ironing board. The length is a bit smaller than my old cheapie if you exclude the iron rest, but larger than anything I'll iron.

The board was wrapped in thick (25 mil?) shrink wrap. I was careful cutting the wrap because it came a little close to the fabric in a couple of spots. I had to make a long slice on the underside to the right,and an "L" on the front. I then wrestled the plastic off of the board. There was one foam piece keeping the narrower legs apart.

The top of the board is an attractive heatproof material. This covers a fairly thick padding (maybe .25"?) that allowed a wrinkle to show on the top. The wrinkle wasn't real; however, and quickly expanded out. I'm probably going to snag a replacement top without the padding, but I'm going to use it for a month or so before deciding. On the underside, there's a spring holding the cover taut.

Getting rid of the cardboard packing is going to be a pain. I normally fold once, then a second time, but this stuff is too heavy. I'll probably have to score it to fold it.

All told, I'm very happy with this board. If you have the room to iron with a large table, go for it. I'd recommend the quality of this manufacturer.

UPDATE: My wife initially thought I was an idiot to spend this much on an ironing board. The first time she needed to iron, though, she did a full about-face. She loves the size, the way it fits clothes, and the iron rest. I initially was afraid to use the iron rest with a hot iron, thinking the silicon might melt. Brave and unafraid, my wife used it and I'm convinced that even the Linen setting is safe.

I have to iron my shirts, and I've been loving this board. The old board was unsteady and narrow. I had to position sleeves in the point of the board to have any success. I was afraid that this board would be a failure because the back end is blocked by the iron rest, but that is a non-issue. The pointed end of this board is angled such that it makes shirts a breeze. You'll want to experiment, but I'm sure you'll find a way that you like. By the way, there are some outstanding videos on YouTube that show good techniques for just about any garment.
