I searched for a month to find the perfect blender. I wanted to use green veggies and fruits as well as blending my home-grown wheatgrass to make my smoothies. I also planned on adding fresh coconut, oatmeal and flax, chia and hemp seeds to my smoothies. I had read the reviews very closely and compared this Ninja Complete Kitchen System Mega Blender to the Vitamix. I wanted to get the Vitamix because it sounds like it's the best blender out there. But after comparing reviews and seeing videos on this blender, I chose this over the Vitamix because of the price. I must say I am disappointed in this blender. It can make a basic smoothie but it doesn't chop the ingredients very well. My coconut, seeds and wheatgrass end up being little pieces in my smoothies, so when I drink I also have to chew. That is not what I wanted. I assumed that this blender would chop and blend things up amazingly because it says it would, but it is not so. The blender is a bit loud but with the speed it makes sense so that is not an issue with me. I haven't used it as a food processor yet but I am hoping that it works well. I am disappointed in this blender considering I spent $240 on it and it doesn't do what it's supposed to. I really wish I had spent the extra money and purchased the Vitamix.
