I bought this to replace a Scooba wet floor cleaner that, as with all Irobot products I have owned (5 in all) went wrong just out of guarantee. I despaired of getting a wet floor cleaner apart from Irobot. then I saw the Mint and figured it was worth a try. I got the 4205 as i had read reviews that the one without a reservoir dried up too quickly and I didn't want to go to the model above this one mainly because of price, there being no guarantee that it works well.
I was pleasantly surprised. It works very well. I would say apart from the grouting between tiles in my Kitchen it works better than the Scooba. How? Well in part because it is so easy to use. The Scooba involved Removing brushes, cleaning them, cleaning pipes, flushing the tank, filling, rinsing. All in all it might have been easier to use a mop. the mint you just fill the tank wet the cloth and it's ready to go. Therefore I use it more thus keeping the floor cleaner. you can also try different cleaning solutions, some of which work very well.
I have never used this just as a floor brush. I have a Karcher RC3000 for that but as a wet floor cleaner it is great and almost silent. Looks cool too!
Given hindsight I would have gone for the next model up. As the mint is so easy to use, it would be great to have a faster charge time and thus use it just like a mop when the floor needs a wipe. The 4205 and below have over 6 hours charge time, which is far too long really.

Clover B7A Hot and Cold Water Dispenser With Adjustable Cold Water Thermostat Review

I purchased this unit for the convenience of dispensed hot & cold water. I based my decision on researching reviews both here and on other sites.
The product was purchased almost a month ago, I did not get around to installing it until recently as I was waiting for the bottle on the old cooler to empty. But people kept installing new bottles and I didn't get the chance until a couple of days ago.
The item was received undamaged and in factory packaging. What I did not like was the absence of factory manuals. No problem, I downloaded the appropriate one from the factory website.
So far the product has given good service. The hot water dispensed is adequately hot and the cold water adequately cold. There is no sign of plastic tasting water, unlike other company's coolers in investigated reviews.
There is no sign of leakage but the installed bottle does have a consistent habit of constantly bubbling as if the water has not settled. The amount of water dispensed from each spigot is a little weak. Not quite the dispensing strength of the older unit.
A side effect of this new dispenser is that everyone is now using it much more often than the old one. After two days the bottle is already more than half drained. This is going to impact future bottle deliveries. Maybe the usage will go down once the novelty has worn off.

The unit is also Energy Star rated, I do not purchase appliances unless they have this rating.
For anyone in the market for an economical hot/cold water dispenser I would recommend this model.

UPDATE (05/04/12)
Was in contact with the manufacturer regarding an item not specified in detail in the service manual.
My question to the company was "Is there an approved cleaning technique for this unit?"
I know how to clean water coolers but the service manual specifically warned against using other liquids other than bottled water. This would inhibit the standard cleaning techniques I know/use.
The prompt answer back from the company:

This is what we recommend:
1. 1 cap of bleach to gal of warm water.
2. Pour a little in the tank and wipe down.
3. Soak the faucets and baffle in the solution.
4. Run a little of the solution through the entire system
5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water, 2 gal at least.

I was relieved to see that the recommended technique is in line with known cleaning procedures for water coolers. But this is straight from the horse's mouth.
Health protocol advises that this should be done approximately every two months.
I just thought that current and potential owners would like to know.

Espresso Maker Review

This review is for the ROK release with company-claimed improvements made to the original. I never owned the original PRESSO, so I offer no insight into the supposed improvements on this model, but you may find reviews of the machine there that are relevant.

I heard about this espresso maker from America's Test Kitchen. My decision to purchase it was based on the fact that a manual machine in theory means less stuff can break (I realize that's not always true), and the small amount of counter space required. I also did not want to wait 30-40 minutes for the water tank to heat as with some semi-autos, nor spend a fortune. I bought an "introductory" grinder, a Rancilio Rocky, to go with my ROK, since an even fine grind is a requirement for espresso.

I am not a barista and I've only owned this machine one week. I'm not an espresso fanatic either. I mostly drink lattes and cappuccinos, where the milk can mask some brewing imperfections. I researched making espresso online for hours and watched many videos before making this purchase. I recommend that you do the same before purchasing this or any espresso machine, but no amount of research will fully prepare you for the whole process. You still won't get a real idea of the process until you make a few of these, but research is still well worth it.

The fact that the ROK is manual does mean that one more thing can go wrong to ruin your espresso. You may not want to deal with that extra variable. Especially if you are new to espresso-making. The ROK website says you get between 5-10 bars of pressure with this machine. Because it's manual, you can't know if you're always hitting the 9 bars that Alton Brown says you should have. You do have to press hard, but it's not insanely hard if your grind and tamp are correct. My first attempts at dialing in my grinder were not great. I had way too fine of a setting, and you can really feel that the arms won't press down, and you barely get any liquid out. Once your grind is corrected, the pressure is normal and the amount of liquid is exactly what you'd expect for a double-shot.

ROK's instruction booklet is useless, but the company's videos you'll find online are much more helpful. I follow the basics of the ROK company's process by pushing down on the arms slightly to pre-infuse, waiting about 3 seconds, then lifting and pushing all the way down. Then I do a second pull, making sure I don't go over 30 seconds total brewing time. I get great crema and can really see the blonding as an indicator of when to stop. Volume on a double-shot is great. My skill level after a week is just so-so but improving. Not counting the awful espressos from the dial-in process, I have gotten two fantastic drinks, and a lot of drinkable but mediocre ones. My mediocre latte is still way better than any SB latte I've ever had though. Are my espressos comparable to what you get at a great coffee house? Not yet. But do I think it could be with this machine? Maybe, with tons of practice and patience. I doubt I will ever get to a great level with my skill and this machine, but I do think it's perfectly good for home use. Again, way better than SB. So depending on your palate and budget, the ROK may or may not be good enough for you.

Preheating and basic cleaning between espressos is essential but extremely messy. The water just gushes out of the machine's opening if the portafilter isn't attached, and even with a large bowl under, it gets everywhere. Plus, if you're on your second cup, there are a few grounds stuck to the gasket that is at the bottom of the machine above where the portafilter goes. You do want to clean those out before the next double-shot is prepared.

The tamper provided with this machine is awful. It has an off-center area to place your thumb, which means the pressure is uneven when you tamp. You will spend forever trying to flatten the coffee puc evenly, then give up and just try brewing it. The portafilter is about 50mm diameter if you want to order a separate tamper.

My one complaint is when the fine coffee grounds get trapped above the gasket, which seems to be silicone with very tiny holes to let water out. Without taking the machine apart, I do not think you can easily clean those out.

I personally love the manual milk foamer. I just microwave my milk to about 150 degrees, then pump the foamer and get great froth. Then brew directly into the mug with the foamed milk. I love that. If you do this, your mugs need to be no more than 4" tall or they won't fit under the ROK with the portafilter attached.

I do like this machine a lot. I will update my review when I've owned it longer.

Dyson DC40 Animal Ball-Technology Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review

Bought this vacuum on sale, so that helped out. I never thought I would have spent so much on a vacuum! Bought a Eureka pet model vacuum last year, and it was the WORST vacuum purchased. Did not pick up much, and ended up picking things like lose carpet fibers by hand.

The Dyson vacuum was easy to put together. Snaps easily together. No screw driver needed! Started up the Dyson DC40, and after working in a small area picked up more dirt and pet hair than my fairly new vacuum did. We were shocked to see how much dirt this baby pulled up! Vacuum moves nicely around and under furniture. I know other people have mentioned their dislike of the cord, stating it's too low. I noticed it is low, but I hooked the beginning of it on the top red cord loop and seemed to work out fine for me. Others have also mentioned that they thought the cord was too short. I think it would be a pain to have it longer than it is, it's fine for me.

Dyson also makes it easy to find and clear your blockages if needed. Instructions give clear pictures of where to find your problem area on the DC40, and have made the brush assembly easy to release from the body to clear anything out of that. Amazing they have a 5 year warranty too!
