I looked all over for an electric heater to heat our entire home, due to a serious issue of not having any other source of heating for our home right now. First I really fell in love with this model because Quartz heaters are so efficient in their ability to heat a room. Infrared can really heat a room better than other types of heaters, that is why farmers use this technology to heat entire drafty barns and other types locations. It also helped to see that this model would heat 1800-Square Feet, which is comparable to that of what you'll find most wood-pellet stoves capable of heating, which makes it a real consideration for a good choice of heating. Then comes the price, and you can shop around and compare, but its hard to beat the price for what you are getting overall, so I decided this was the heater for me.

It finally arrived today, and then I saw the one and only draw back to it, which I should have known... It requires a "Dedicated 15-amp Electrical Outlet". If you do not know what this means, its simple... You know how some air conditioners have their very own single outlet which is round, but can look just like a normal electrical outlet for plugging in everything else in your house. Well its got one big difference, it is the only thing that draws power off from that one single 15-amp or 20-amp breaker! If you think it doesn't matter, think again, plug something like this in on a typical house outlet which powers your TV and other household devices you can end up tripping the breaker a lot, or just simply causing a house fire because you overloaded the wiring. The box for the heater clearly states it needs a "Dedicated Electrical Outlet", and so does the instructions, but they do not make any mention of it here or on the other places I've found this same company selling this exact same heater. The other thing is it clearly states in the instructions "Do not plug it into a GFCI Outlet", that is the outlet with the buttons which say Trip/Rest like you find in bathrooms, kitchens, and locations where water is present or near.

I say "I should have known" because there is no way you can heat that much space without it taking a good bit of electricity to do it, and thus you need a dedicated outlet for such a job be it an air conditioner or a heater. So before you buy this, make sure you either have such an outlet to plug it into, or make sure you have plans for a licensed electrician to come in hook you up one before you plan on plugging this thing in. I sincerely hope this helps anyone considering this heater to have all the facts and information to make an informed purchase.
