I've had this oven for about 5 years, and it is still working great. It is used at least once every day, and sometimes more. The electronics have never mal-functioned, they have always worked perfectly.

There are two problems with the oven. First it does not heat quite evenly, but I don't think any brands do. The second problem is that the door has quit closing properly. I prop it closed with a tall bottle of cooking oil. For this reason I will be getting a new oven soon, and will try a different brand.

Blueair Smokestop Filter for 400 Series Air Purifier Review

You're probably completely shocked that this Smokestop Filter costs as much as it does. But trust me, if you have any problems with odors, it's worth EVERY penny.

I normally use the regular Blueair filter for the 402, but I purchased the Smokestop after my neighborhood was flooded with horrible fumes from a nearby methane gas leak. The authorities deemed the gases as harmless, so no evacuations were ordered. However, being very sensitive to fumes of any kind, I became very ill. With no other place to go, I put the Smokestop filter into my 402 and moved the air cleaner into my smallest bedroom, where I camped out for the next couple of days. A trip to any other room of the house left me feeling nauseous, dizzy, with a raging headache and difficulty breathing within minutes (but the fumes were "harmless"!!). The room with the Blueair equipped with the Smokestop filter was absolutely free of odor. It was incredible.

Since not everyone has methane gas leaks permeating their homes (thankfully!), you may never get the chance to test the filter in this way. But it no doubt works wonders with cigarette smoke and other offensive odors that waft into your home.

The filter has 2 "chambers." One filled with activated charcoal, and the other with the familiar Blueair patented white filter. So it doesn't just stop with odors, it still cleans particles from the air with great efficiency, and best of all, Q-U-I-E-T-ly. Just remember to change it after 6 months, even if it means going back to the regular (and cheaper) filter. Happy breathing!

SEPT. 2008 ADDENDUM: I had another fume problem, this time, toxic deck sealant fumes from a home repair seeping into the house. I purchased another Smokestop filter and this time I noticed an odor coming from the filter itself. It's not horrible, but I had become so sensitive to odors after a week of sealant exposure that it made me feel sick. I left the Blueair on high and it has reduced the smell after a few days. To be fair, despite the filter smell, the deck sealant odor was neutralized. And finally, I have a balcony-smoking neighbor, and as soon as secondhand smoke wafts into my bedroom, I turn up the Blueair and the smoke odor is gone in a flash. Just be aware of the initial odor from the filter itself. I'd say I'm dropping my rating to 4 stars, or 3.8 if I could.

Danby Premiere DDR30A1GP 30 pint dehumidifier - Euro Grey Review

Seller (Aim To Find) did not want to let me return this though I had it less than 48 hours. Amazon emailed them, now they will let me return it for $83.16! The seller emailed me this: "25% restocking fee and original shipping costs deducted from the return. The product does not state that it has an auto shut off feature when the humidity is reached."

There is no mention in the item description of the fan running continuously but it comes with a large sticker on the front saying "the fan never turns off unless the dehumidifier is off" in huge red letters so it is obviously an issue people keep contacting the manufacturer about. I would call this a design defect.

So, it has a useless electronic panel that allows you to set the desired humidity but it does not turn off--ever! I've used dehumidifiers for the past 30 years I have never heard of this (I live in a damp climate). They ALWAYS turn on and off according to the humidity in the room. So I ignored the sticker thinking it must be poorly worded. I set it to 40% humidity, the house reached that level but then the thing just ran for hours and hours until I turned it off. In a few hours the humidity was climbing again. There is essentially no thermostat. It makes no sense. If you don't care about electricity use, or an appliance continually running for no reason, or fan noise 24/7, this will work for you.

I will never purchase a high priced item again without getting in writing how much it will cost to return if broken/defective/designed by idiots. A very expensive lesson. I regret not purchasing at Home Depo where returns are free.

I killed my old refrigerator by over-stuffing the freezer section. This little freezer provides the perfect backup for my new one. It fits in a corner and makes a nice little end table. It stays very cold, maybe because I only use it for long-term storage and don't open the door very often. You do need to pay attention to the warning about keeping it level. When it gets bumped off kilter, it rattles loudly. On kilter, it's so quiet, you have to feel it to know it's working.

With a fat Amazon gift certificate burning a hole in my jammies, visions of a clean coal stove danced in my head. I had been lusting after one of these ash-vacs for years, and now finally, it would be mine...

Boy do I wish I had read a review like this one prior to purchasing this vacuum (which I will return tomorrow). Didn't even have to dirty it, reading the instructions was all it took. Unfortunately, it required getting in to my livingroom to figure this out, since in none of the online descriptions at various sites, including Amazon, did it mention that this unit is for FINE ASH ONLY. In other words, the steel nozzle opening, approximately the diameter of a nickel, is designed to admit fine powder ONLY, and even that in small bits with the nozzle pressed against the firebrick in a "small circular pattern", allowing the ash to "sift" into the hose incrementally. (The instructions went on to detail all the various ways the thing could get itself plugged up...)

HELLO! Has anyone out there ever heated with solid fuel full time? It would take all day to suck up ash in that manner, not to mention that burning wood/coal does not produce exclusively fine ash. For coal especially, clinkers - the molten residue of trace minerals found in anthracite coal, are part of the bargain, and are produced in such abundance that it would render this tool effectively useless for coal burners.

In addition, though the hose is metal, intimating that the odd live coal is no biggie, the filter system in this thing is CLOTH - ie. you can burn holes in it with live material. Then it leaks. Right.

I'll have my 200+ bucks back and suck my ash chamber out with my shop vac, thanks - especially since the stuff would have to be cool anyway. (You can buy fine particle filters and bags at Home Depot). So much for my simplified stove cleaning fantasies...Oh well.

True Induction Cooktop- Double Burner- Energy Efficient S2F2 Review

We are planning a kitchen overhaul and I bought one of these to let my wife experiment with induction cooking before we install a full induction range. Our home is all electric so gas isn't an option.
She loved it from the get go. Very little adjustment really since she had been cooking on an electric range for years.
But be aware, since this is 110 volt unit, it doesn't have near the power of a full 220 volt range. It splits 100% of its power between the two burners. You can run one burner at 100% and the other at zero.. ...both burners at 50%....or one at 70% and the other at 30%. You get the point. And...you really need 100% to sear or fry, so its mostly a one burner unit.
Still... We love it and when we get our new induction range, I'll move this portable unit to my RV.
