My wife and I purchased a GE dual fuel range (cafe model C2S980SEM1SS) and loved it right up until the first knob broke on the stove. This was a poor design with a metal half-moon shape enclosed in a very thin and brittle plastic piece. Customer service claimed that they didn't have a problem with these knobs breaking (read: it must be YOUR fault), and that the parts department would be happy to help us out as long as we had checks or credit cards available at the time of the call. We had to pay a little over $66 for this first knob. The replacement knob then arrived - it had been redesigned with a much sturdier stem piece. The bad news was that it is also a smaller diameter that looked out of place with the other knobs. GE parts department seemed confused and claimed that they did not know what else they could do. Customer service had never heard of any problems of this nature.

The second knob broke a few weeks later and we were able to balance out the look of the stove knobs by replacing the middle one on each side. I wrapped some wire around the remaining knob stems to try to reinforce the plastic. This worked for a little over a year. Now the third knob has broken and I am, again, required to pay $66 for another knob. By the time we finish this dance I will be out an additional $396 dollars for the six knobs.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this, or any other GE product, after dealing with this lack of customer care. They have an obvious design flaw in the original product and have since changed it. Yet, they refuse to acknowledge this and are requiring the previous owners pay a premium price to fix their mistake.

That being said I imagine this new model of stove has redesigned knobs and will work well for you. The first thing I would do if you purchase one is pull a control knob off and see if it cheap crap that is going to make you spend an additional $400 in maintenance over the years.
