becareful, you may get wrong heater. I ordered model L-HOM6-NS12 and got this instead. This error on amazons part does not reflect my rating.
The good. This does throw off some heat but takes a little while to heat a large room up but not too long. It was packaged well but that said, the one corner was a bit damaged but not during shipping. It was damaged at the factory and you can see where they tried to repair it with wood putty and added stain to it. Its a bit rounded and not pointy like the other corners.
The not so good but not really bad. The overall build quality feels a bit cheap, maybe because its a hollow box with some heating coils and a small fan. I am not sure what is IR about this as they look like normal heating coils with a fan blowing over them to send out the hot air.
It is not quiet and you can hear the fan for sure, even with TV on but its a pleasant sound with no buzzing, rattles etc..
There are some sloppy glue drippings as well. The buttons have a cheap feeling to them when pressed and sometimes the thermostat will not turn it on unless the room temp gets 2 degrees lower then then set temp and them it will kick on. For example the unit is set to 65 but the actual temp is 63, it will not turn on so I have to set the temp to 66 or 67 to make it kick in..
