The vacuum has a 12-amp motor that picks up dirt and dry debris, as well as small objects such as staples and paperclips. The twin-chamber bagless system with HEPA filter traps dirt and does not require buying or changing vacuum bags. The HEPA air filter removes at least 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 micrometers. The power-surge switch gives extra power when vacuuming heavily soiled areas. I am happy with the handle that folds down for easier transporting in the back of my truck. This has a silent mode when needed, and a booster for extra heavily soiled carpet.
