We've had this cooler for about two years now and it has performed wonderfully. It does produce a noticeable noise when running, so I don't think it's suitable for use in a common area. At first we had it near our entertainment area, but the noise it made while running became annoying during cards, conversation or while watching TV. It does not accommodate larger bottles, so some of the taller bottles will have to find a home elsewhere.
UPDATE 7/20/13: We've now had this for almost 5 years and it's starting to show its age. Condensation forms on the bottom tray and has to be wiped out on a regular basis - otherwise water will come out with the bottom bottles when extracted. It doesn't seem to be able to maintain temperature below 58 degrees at an ambient of 75. I've done all the maintenance I can like cleaning the heat exchanger fins. At an average cost of around $35/yr I don't think I'll be buying another.
